Dr. Matthew Lucero

DMD

Dr. Matthew Lucero (Dr. Matt) is passionate about providing pediatric dentistry that is caring, compassionate, transparent, and focused on patient safety. He loves that he gets to meet and interact with so many different families every day. When creating Happy Teeth Pediatric Dentistry, he wanted to build a community where kids feel welcome and accepted throughout their entire childhood and have fun learning about dental care at the same time. He is committed to making sure that parents and children both feel comfortable, safe, and involved every step of the way. Kids love Dr. Matt’s fun, charismatic personality and his silly sense of humor. He always goes above and beyond to get his patients to smile and laugh. His goal is to make dental visits fun and enjoyable experiences for each and every child.

Dr. Matt is from Reno, Nevada. He went to the University of Nevada for undergraduate school and Nova Southeastern University for Dental School. He then completed his AEGD residency in San Antonio at the Audie Murphy VA Hospital to learn advanced general dentistry and did his pediatric residency at Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Matt worked as a general dentist for five years. For two of those years, he worked for a nonprofit dental clinic where he saw mostly children. The nonprofit clinic is where Dr. Matt discovered his love for taking care of kids and their unique oral health needs.

In his free time, Dr. Matt enjoys riding his bicycle, going on hikes with his two pups, Barkley and Twix, and his wife, Sarah. He also enjoys going to see live music in Austin and traveling to see other areas of the country!
